Harassment or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated.\n\nIf the Association members or those who collaborate with the Association violate this code of conduct, the Association can undertake any action the Board deems necessary, including, but not limited to, warning the author of the offense, suspension or expulsion from the Association; notifying professional orders and expulsion from every event without any reimbursement.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-473fa8b elementor-invisible elementor-widget elementor-widget-rt-title\" data-id=\"473fa8b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_animation&quot;:&quot;fadeInDown&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"rt-title.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\r\n<div class=\"section-heading heading-dark text-left heading-layout1\">\r\n    <h2 class=\"rtin-title\">Good practices and recommendations<\/h2>\r\n    \t\t<p class=\"rtin-subtitle\"><h4>Language policy <\/h4>\n<\/p> \r\n     <\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d266597 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d266597\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn agreement with the recommendations of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), we encourage professionals to:\n<ul>\n \t<li>always respect the gender identity of a person through language based on how the person defines and describes themselves, including also non-binary gender identities and expressions<\/li>\n<li>respect the gender identity and role of the person regardless of their medical gender affirmation choices (hormonal and\/or surgical)<\/li>\n<li>when referring to gender, use the expressions gender assigned at birth or legal gender instead of biological sex\/gender<\/li>\n<li>the path that some transgender people wish to follow or have followed is today called gender affirming care. To be respectful towards people who opt for this path, it is recommended to never use the expressions \u201csex reassignment\u201d or \u201csex change\u201d<\/li>\n<li>adopt a language that does not stigmatize and\/or pathologize gender identity, gender roles or a person\u2019s body<\/li>\n<li>gender incongruence is one of many aspects that can describe a person: it is therefore recommended to use expressions such as \u201cperson with gender incongruence\u201d, \u201ctransgender person\u201d, \u201ctrans person\u201d, \u201ca person with an intersex conditions\u201d and not the following expressions \u201ca trans\u201d, \u201can intersex\u201d<\/li>\n<li>the expressions \u201cgender identity disorder\u201d and \u201csexual development disorder\u201d are today considered pathologizing<\/li>\n<li>it is recommended that people be defined based on the gender assigned at birth (meaning \u201cperson assigned male at birth\u201d, AMAB; \u201cperson assigned female at birth\u201d, AFAB). Expressions such as male-to-female, female-to-male, trans woman, or trans man erroneously assume that a transgender person identifies with the opposite gender to the one assigned at birth and is not inclusive of non-binary identities<\/li>\n<li>not undertake scientific studies that describe or support clinical interventions not in line with human rights, such as the so-called reparative therapies aimed at imposing gender conformity on gender variances<\/li>\n<li>to not misgender people by using a language that does not recognize the person\u2019s gender.
