Gender-affirming hormone therapy payable by the NHS
Inclusion of the medicinal products testosterone, testosterone undecanoate, testosterone enanthate, testosterone esters in the list of medicines that can be dispensed entirely by the National Health Service, pursuant to law no. 648, for use in the virilization process of transgender men, subject to the diagnosis of gender dysphoria / gender incongruence formulated by a dedicated multidisciplinary and specialist team. Inclusion of the medicinal products estradiol, estradiol hemihydrate, estradiol valerate, cyproterone acetate, spironolactone, leuprolide acetate and triptorelin in the list of medicines that can be dispensed entirely by the National Health Service, pursuant to law no. 648, for the use of transgender women in the feminization process, subject to the diagnosis of gender dysphoria / gender incongruence, formulated by a dedicated multidisciplinary and specialist team. Puberty suppression in adolescents with Gender incongruence Covered by the NHS
Inclusion of Triptorelin in the list of medicines that can be dispensed entirely at the expense of the National Health Service, in accordance with the law of 23 December 1996, n. 648, for use in selected cases in which puberty is incongruent with gender identity (gender dysphoria), with diagnosis confirmed by a multidisciplinary and specialist team and in which psychological, psychotherapeutic and psychiatric assistance is not conclusive.
