About us

The Italian Society for Gender, Identity and Health (SIGIS) is a professional non-profit association created in July 2021 by health professionals committed to the promotion of the physical, mental and social wellbeing of people with gender incongruence and intersex conditions.

Aims/Mission

To promote the physical, mental and social wellbeing of transgender people and people with intersex conditions
To ensure rights to physical, mental, and social wellbeing for transgender people and people with intersex conditions
To promote knowledge about gender identity
To foster professionals’ knowledge and skills regarding transgender care and intersexuality
To promote research and scientific experiences by publishing reports and organizing scientific conferences and meetings and to collaborate with other international organizations with common interests and objectives
